I'll Carry You

In 2017 I created my most meaningful series yet. 'All That You've Become' was the story of my connection to my upbringing and a shared history with my dad, Chris. Last year he died of Bowl Cancer and this exhibition helped me cement our connection and in the process I learnt more about, him, myself and where I came from. Each art work had a story and this painting, 'I'll Carry you' is that of family support and being there for each other. Why a horse? Both my mum and dad, then my sister were horse riders. Mustering and Cavalcadeing all over the South Island of New Zealand and also competing in rodeo's bucking broncos, barrel racing.
